Portrait Art and Studies

There is something about capturing the features of beautiful people that is just plain fun! I started my portrature journey in traditional media such as acrylicpaint, pencil, and color pencil but eventually took some virtual lessons to start painting digitally.

More

I started from a pencil now I'm here.

I started making portraits with just a no.2 and have since taken that interest to digital. It took a lot of practice and I am still working to improve, but I don't find a lack being inspired by people to paint. I love pop culture and watching good movies, so I draw a lot of inspiration from that and since the representation of people of color in Hollywood is already limited, I generally lean toward highlighting people of color.

I wanted to focus on diversity in the facial features.

I also tried my hand at acrylic paints.

Ultimately I found my way to digital portraits .

Practice Makes Perfect

Luckily, I have a very supportive family and girlfriend and I also draw a lot of inspiration from them. Above is a portrait I did of my brother and below is a number of attempts at varying skill levels portraits of my very gracious girlfriend. Unluckily for her, it took me a while to get a hold of it all.
